Pickleball


Recently updated, Cypress Woods boasts one of the premier private club pickleball facilities in the area, featuring eight (8) dedicated courts designed exclusively for play. Outdoor lighting allows for extended evening matches, making it easy to enjoy the game any time of day.

Our active pickleball community hosts round-robin sessions Monday through Friday mornings and Wednesday evenings, offering fun, competitive play for all skill levels in an inclusive and social atmosphere.

For those looking to improve or get started, structured match play and beginner instruction are available. Complimentary paddles and balls are available for member use.

Cypress Woods proudly participates each year in the Estero Inter-Club League, fielding competitive teams in the Men’s 3.0 and 3.5 divisions, the Women’s 3.0 division, and the Mixed 3.5 division. The Club also hosts its annual Club Championship each spring, celebrating friendly competition and community spirit.

Members are welcome to play or reserve court time through the Cypress Woods App whenever no Club event is scheduled. Guest players accompanied by a member are also invited to participate, but must register prior to playing.

Cypress Woods participates in the Estero Area Inter-Club Pickleball League.  Club teams play one match per week during Season (Jan - April) against other Clubs in the area.  A Club Team is composed of three 2 person teams- men’s, women’s, and mixed. Cypress Woods currently competes at the 3.0 and 3.5 level for men.  Clubs participating in the League include: Cypress Woods, Rookery Point, Pelican Landing,  Pelican Preserve, Pelican Sound, Jamaica Bay, Valencia Bonita,  Corkscrew Shores, The Preserve at Corkscrew and The Brooks.

Only Members (and Guests accompanied by their host Members) may use the pickleball courts.
The pickleball courts may be used from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm. Variations of hours will depend on the season, weather, and utilization of the facility. The USA Pickleball Association’s most current Rulebook shall govern pickleball play. All food and beverages consumed at the courts or courtside shall be purchased from the Club. Courts are to be used for pickleball only and for no other purpose. Member households are limited to a total of 3 court Guests per day. The Club stores pickleball equipment at the courts for short-term, same day borrowing. A storage box key is available at the golf pro shop. No pets or animals are permitted on the courts. Smoking is prohibited on or around the pickleball courts.
 
All Members shall abide by the reservation sign-up sheets posted on the tennis/pickle ball court bulletin board. Players without reserved court time are welcome to play, but must yield to (a) those who made prior reservations on the reservation sign-up sheet and (b) Club events. Reservations may be made up to six (6) days in advance. Players are requested to limit reservations to one (1) - two (2) hour period of play per day. Players without a reserved court time will be asked to relinquish a court to those who previously reserved a court. The general manager may block off times during which the courts will be reserved for league play or special functions.
 
Guest players must be registered to play tennis or pickleball before playing. To register guests, the sponsor member shall send an email to [email protected] stating member’s number, the date of play, names of the guests and whether for tennis or pickleball. A guest fee of $5 per guest will be charged to the Member’s account. Members are on an honor system to register guests. Guests must be accompanied by the sponsor member at the courts. A member/ membership can sponsor 3 guests max.
 
All players are expected to observe proper etiquette on and at the courts. The use of profanity, loud noises, or any form of misconduct will be subject to disciplinary action. No person shall cross another court while play is in progress but shall wait until a point is over.  No person shall distract or interfere with players while a match is in progress.
Tennis or court shoes must be worn at all times. Men must wear appropriate length shorts, shirts, and/or appropriate warm-up suits. Women must wear tennis shorts, skorts, skirts, dresses, and/or appropriate warm-up suits. Tank tops, playing shirtless, running shorts, cargo shorts, cut-offs, and bathing suits are not permitted.
